Home I have chosen my fiction story for my Language Arts portfolio. Like a fiction writer, I had to ask myself, “What books do I wish existed in the world?” I also invented a character with traits, action, and struggles. I had to write about an issue that was important to me and create a character who struggled with that issue. I needed to know the character’s motivations (longings) and struggles. I had to also create a character’s internal and external traits. I had to use a story map to outline my story. I needed to start with the character and setting (make sure the readers can picture the setting). I had to remember to include a dialog that allows the reader to see what the characters are doing. I had to write events with small moment after small moment so it leads to the climax. Last but not least, I had to resolve the story so there were no loose ends. I had some good writing in my piece. I put enough dialog in my piece. I also stuck to the main idea of the piece. My piece was long and it had its small moments. I believe I wrote a good piece. Also my story has a little bit of a Cinderella twist on it. I would like to improve some of my writing in my piece. One of things I would like to improve is staying in one tense. I also would like to improve writing with more details. Other wise I think I did very well with writing my piece.
